EXPRESS-ROULARTA GROUP, present on the Android market since 2010 through its brands L’EXPRESS and L’EXPANSION, continues its development and just launched three new applications for mobile and tablet made by Valtech in the Google Play Store.
Supporting EXPRESS-ROULARTA GROUP’s ambition to become the reference in terms of media applications in the mobile ecosystem, Valtech has delivered in parallel with the first L’ENTREPRISE application, new versions of the L’EXPRESS and L’EXPANSION apps.
The marketing stake also proved to be a technological challenge. There was a need to combine technical performance and intuitive interface to a set of services to create a custom user experience adapted to the uses of the new mobile internet user.
Valtech allied technological and creative skills and the understanding of marketing key issues to create powerful and engaging applications.
The collaboration between Valtech and L’Express teams has helped improve significantly the navigation speed as well as the interface and user experience, and develop innovative features. Thus, the three applications not only include classic sharing and bookmarking but also personalization possibilities allowing the user to choose the order of headings based on his interests. In addition, Valtech met one of the key demands of L’Express mobile users that were to make offline consultations of articles possible. Moreover, these applications are adapted to the needs of all users thanks to smooth and fast navigation and an optimized reading version on tablet. Another challenge was to foster a dynamic community on L’Express applications by enabling members to react to news by posting comments and subscribing to their newsletter.
The aim of improving their technical performance has been successfully reached: the speed and responsiveness have doubled on the new applications. Successive versions of L’Express applications also showed an improvement in customer satisfaction, with an average score of app user satisfaction increasing from 3.7 to 4.4 out of 5 since the update, as well as many positive comments.
A technological challenge, the project was also based on the building of a solid technical core that enabled rapid declination of applications thus drastically reducing their time to market. That is why it only took one week to produce the L’Entreprise app once L'Express and L'Expansion were completed.
"We are extremely proud of the work done with EXPRESS-ROULARTA GROUP. With the creation of this technological core, Valtech will be able to speed up the release of new applications for L’Express Group," said Yohan Founs, Mobile & RIA Director at Valtech.
"The collaboration with Valtech has allowed us to create a powerful application core from which our group will be able to deploy all our brands while preserving their specific as well as functional identities. The first three applications available on mobile, tablet and Kindle are for us the foundation of the success of our ambitious Android 2012 program," said Sophie Gohier, New Media Director at Express-Roularta Group - Editor L’Express.fr
The collaboration with Express-Roularta Group continues: Valtech is currently working on apps for L'Express Styles, Côté Maison and Votre Argent.
