The role

Join Valtech as a Business Development Executive, where you'll play a pivotal role in driving our growth as a global digital agency leader. We’re looking for an ambitious sales professional with a hunter mindset, eager to open doors, build relationships, and close transformational deals.  

To be a success in the role you will know the agency game because you have lived it for years. You will be able to articulate the value of digital transformation to a B2B or B2C client in 50 words or less and most importantly, as a digital native, you can translate the trends and lingo of the digital world into concise, actionable insights that C-level executives can understand, value, and buy.  

Your job is to know the market, identify and pursue new business opportunities, and build relationships with potential clients. You know the value of customized, consultative selling over autopilot sales approaches with generic slide decks. You’re comfortable with positioning a full-service offering that spans strategy, creative, and technology. 

Critically, you’ll know that digital is so much more than the website. You’ll be passionate about the impact your work has on human beings. Furthermore, you’ll lead and inspire a results-driven sales team, driving a lean, effective, end-to-end sales process in close collaboration with marketing. 

You will be a part of the Valtech team and play a key role within the wider Americas team. As an integral part of the sales team, you’ll own the responsibility for driving net-new revenue to our business. You must be both a leader and a deal-closer, and that means you also understand the fine act of balancing risks when bidding for new business. You’ll leverage Valtech’s global network to enhance your business development efforts and maximize impact. 

You’ve had a similar position for the last 10 years or more, most likely in another digital agency or a technology services provider. Your track record is proven when it comes to landing seven-figure deals, building pipelines, and delivering innovative digital solutions.

And the showstopper: you’re a hunter at heart, living and breathing the digital space. You’ve thrived in digital agencies or consultancies, designing and selling digital solutions, leading with a consultative approach, and evangelizing the value of digital transformation. If that’s you, we want you on our team. 

Role responsibilities

  • Prospect, pitch, and win new business across B2B and B2C industries, translating Valtech’s offerings into compelling value propositions for C-suite executives. 
  • You will have experience in selling services (not products). 
  • You have knowledge through real world experience with relationship-based enterprise sales in one or more verticals: Retail, Financial Services, CPG, Healthcare
  • Drive the sales pipeline development in close partnership with the North American and Global marketing team. 
  • Manage the sales team and the entire sales process to ensure delivery against KPIs and targets with the strong emphasis on new business sales. 
  • Lead end-to-end presales / RFP response / pitch process through qualification, win strategy definition, engagement of appropriate resources such as solution engineers, professional services leads, partner executives etc. 
  • Participate in relevant marketing and industry events. 
  • Systematically collaborate with Valtech’s key technology platform partners in the region, e.g. Microsoft, Sitecore, SAP, Adobe, Commerce tools, and others. 
  • Accurate weekly, monthly, and quarterly forecasting and revenue delivery. 
  • Keep up with industry trends in professional digital agency services and Valtech clients’ industry verticals. 
  • Keep up with client success case studies and services value proposition development within Valtech. 

Minimum qualifications

  • 10+ years of experience as a business development professional in digital agencies or tech professional services, with a proven track record of success in new business acquisition in agency/tech professional services industry. 
  • Proven expertise in building and maintaining sales pipelines, negotiating complex deals, and closing opportunities. 
  • Existing network of potential clients in your geographical locale. 
  • Demonstrable track records selling multi-year, seven figure engagements.
  • Personal drive to "get it done and get it done right", with the ability to make effective decisions and see them through. 
  • Flexibility and ability to adjust on-the-fly to new demands and business environments, sense of urgency. 
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and people skills working with internal teams and client teams 
  • Assertiveness, confidence, and a “company-first” mindset.

The benefits

This is a full-time, salaried position in the United States. The minimum base salary for this position is $300,000 annually, depending on experience.
