Because of COVID-19, reaching consumers has been and continues to be even more challenging than before. Which is why many companies are struggling with the question of how to turn their website into a new source of income – without it taking too long or costing too much. Valtech has a solution. It’s called Check-Out-as-a-Service.
While many companies are slowly picking up in the aftermath of COVID-19, the impact is definitely exposed. The vast majority has a website and product catalogue in place, but is lacking the actual ordering and payment functionality. Having to shut down physical stores, these companies found themselves needing to offer customers the option of buying online. However, a commerce solution like this, normally requires a significant investment in time and, crucially, money – which is exactly where companies are being extra careful. Now, but also in the uncertain months to come.
From needing to having
So on the one hand, these companies urgently need to secure a new source of income. That means offering customers an alternative way to purchase. On the other hand, these companies may lack the financial resources to realise that. Which is why we have introduced Check-Out-as-a-Service (COaaS) – a simple way to add e-commerce options while minimising the investment required.
A generic commerce platform
COaaS is a generic solution that is relatively easy to integrate into an existing online channel. It can be implemented in a fraction of the lead time and retailer investment of a tailored solution. Our responsibilities and those of our platform partner, which in this case is commercetools, include creating the order form, the commerce platform, the payment system and the infrastructure. The client is only responsible for fulfilling the order. This makes COaaS both accessible and carefree.

While implementing a full-scale commerce project can take from three months to 1.5 years from start to finish, our generic solution cuts this significantly, making adding an e-commerce option a realistic way to secure a new source of income quickly. It also reduces the investment required substantially.
Industries that it's mostly relevant for
COaaS is particularly interesting for B2B companies that typically rely on a retailer or distributor to get products to customers, but now quickly want to add a D2C or D2B channel. This concept has partially been implemented to the Faceshield website for our client Wavin.
Commerce without a major investment
With Check-Out-as-a-Service, companies can implement an online sales channel much more quickly and without making a major investment. In an interactive setting, we’d like to guide you through this process. To make sure we can advise you in the best way possible, we kindly request you to answer a few questions.
