About the Role
Reporting to Valtech’s Bid Management Lead, the Senior Bid Writer will play a crucial role in supporting our sales and bidding function by crafting compelling and compliant bid responses for public sector tenders. You will be responsible for interpreting tender documents, developing winning strategies, and producing high-quality written content that showcases our expertise and value proposition.
Key Responsibilities
Bid Management Support:
- Assist in the bid lifecycle, from initial opportunity identification through to submission.
- Contribute to bid/no-bid decisions by analysing tender documentation and assessing our capabilities.
- Maintain accurate bid documentation and records.
Bid Writing & Content Creation:
- Write clear, concise, and persuasive bid responses that address all tender requirements.
- Develop compelling content that highlights our technical expertise, experience, and value proposition.
- Tailor bid responses to specific client needs and requirements.
- Create and maintain a library of reusable bid content.
- Work with technical teams to ensure that the technical solutions are described in a clear and compelling way.
Compliance & Quality Assurance:
- Ensure all bid responses are fully compliant with tender specifications and evaluation criteria.
- Conduct thorough reviews and proofreading to ensure accuracy and consistency.
- Adhere to strict deadlines and manage multiple bids simultaneously.
Collaboration & Communication:
- Work closely with sales, technical, and project management teams to gather information and develop winning strategies.
- Conduct interviews with subject matter experts to extract relevant content.
- Present bid progress updates to stakeholders.
- Communicate clearly with partners where joint bids are being created.
Market Research: - Research public sector market trends, competitor activity, and client requirements.
- Maintain an understanding of current public sector procurement practices and frameworks (e.g., G-Cloud, Digital Marketplace).
Essential Skills & Experience
· Proven experience in bid writing, ideally within the digital transformation or technology sector.
· Strong understanding of public sector procurement processes and frameworks.
· Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
· Exceptional attention to detail and proofreading abilities.
· Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
· Strong organisational and time management skills.
· Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
· Experience of working with online procurement portals.
Desirable Skills & Experience
· Experience with bid management software.
· Knowledge of digital transformation technologies and methodologies.
· Experience working with government frameworks such as G-Cloud, DOS.
· A degree in English, Journalism, Marketing, or a related field.
