Valtech and easyJet collaborate for a successful Hackathon event
augustus 19, 2024
Valtech recently concluded a highly successful two-day hackathon in collaboration with easyJet, hosted across their UK and North Macedonia offices and drawing participation from over 100 employees.
This marks our second hackathon, building on the success of our inaugural event in 2022 and it’s rapidly becoming a key annual initiative that drives tangible results. Notably, a concept from the 2022 hackathon is already live on the easyJet website, with another idea in the feature backlog. Additionally, Valtech is refining a prototype to strengthen the business case for this year's winning idea.
The hackathon served as a dynamic platform for employees from both organizations to blend their skills and creativity in developing digital solutions aimed at enhancing customer experiences in the travel sector. The goal was to create solutions that make travel with easyJet more reliable, distinctive and seamless.
During the event, participants engaged in intensive brainstorming and prototype development sessions, tackling real-world digital challenges in the travel industry. Teams were formed with a mix of Valtech and easyJet members, encompassing diverse skill sets such as engineering, product management and business analysis. This cross-functional approach fostered collaboration and showcased the collective expertise and innovative spirit of both companies. The teams identified key problems, explored potential solutions and developed concepts that were subsequently pitched to senior easyJet stakeholders.
We are thrilled with the outcome of our collaboration with easyJet.

"The energy and excitement generated during the hackathon were palpable, and it’s been fantastic to see how this enthusiasm has continued to ripple through our teams. The relationships forged and ideas sparked during these two days have had a lasting impact, reinforcing the value of such collaborative initiatives.
It was inspiring to witness teams coming together, exchanging ideas and creating solutions with the potential to drive meaningful change in how digital technologies enhance travel."
After a two-year break, it was great to bring another Hack to the easyJet and Valtech channels teams this year.
This year’s Hack was bigger and better than the last and it was brilliantly supported by the team at Valtech.
